St. John’s College of Nursing Celebrates May 2018 Graduates

Thirty-six students will graduate with Bachelor of Science degrees in Nursing from St. John’s College of Nursing today, May 11, at 5 p.m. The students come from all walks of life but have met a common goal – to become registered nurses. They graduate during National Nurses Week when the achievement and compassion of nurses are highlighted and celebrated. "This commencement ceremony signifies the joyous accomplishments our graduates have attained over the past two years. The time is now for family and friends to celebrate their hard work," said Charlene Aaron, PhD, RN, chancellor of St. John’s College. "It is humbling and exhilarating to watch the professional growth of each student’s journey. I have the utmost pride in our graduates and wish them a blessed nursing career." HSHS St. John’s Hospital will employ 75 percent of this graduating class. The college’s partnership with St. John’s enables students to gain hands on experience and to become familiar with hospital staff and procedures. All graduates have job placements and will begin working this summer. The ceremony will be held at Christ the King church at 1930 Barberry Drive, Springfield, IL.
